We are seeking a confident, motivated individual to manage the landscape of the most beautiful and elite buildings/sites throughout Chittenden County. For 20 years di Stefano Landscape Company has been providing high end landscaping services to premier Vermont clientele consisting of weekly maintenance, enhancements, seasonal color, and snow removal services. The primary function of this role is to communicate with the client, prioritize their landscaping needs and develop a lasting partnership through site visits, emails, and meetings, and create solutions for their landscaping needs. Work with operations teams and ensure approved work is completed within budget and delivered to exceed client expectations.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Manager should be a motivated, high-energy, and customer-centric person to oversee customer interaction and maintenance process communication. The Account Manager is familiar with all aspects of commercial landscape maintenance including sales, production, customer service, and estimation and will be responsible for making client contact, preparing, and presenting proposal documents and contracts, completing the sale, interfacing with company production and accounting personnel, and partnering with subcontractors and vendors as needed throughout the maintenance and enhancement process. Additionally, the Account Manager will conduct monthly client contact, manage issue resolution, and ensure proper billing of change orders and enhancements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Meet annual sales goals
  • A love for all things landscaping and people
  • Horticulture, service industry or high touch sales experience 
  • Green industry/Landscape experience 
  • Landscape degree or coursework in the horticultural field or similar preferred
  • Effective communicator, responsible and trustworthy
  • Ability to establish relationships quickly
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work independently
  • Sense of humor
  • Problem solve and the ability to “pivot”
  • Interface with clients and ensure any concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner
  • Conduct monthly contact with client to identify and documents issues
  • Ensure that jobs are kept on schedule and at or under budget
  • Process all enhancements and ensure enhancements are priced and processed accurately
  • Interface with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of work
  • Interface with company Production Managers to ensure client’s expectations are met
  • Ensure that company production standards are met
  • Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and, when applicable, report any unsafe conditions to supervisors
  • Maintain and update CRM software daily re: deadlines, meetings, notes, points of contact, phone conversations, etc.
  • Understand and comply with company policies, procedures and SOPs
  • Manage entire contract process including but not limited to:
    • Making initial contact with clients and taking all required measurements
    • Preparing bids
    • Presenting proposals and documents to clients
    • Closing sales and coordinating job specifics with accounting and production personnel

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, associations and related business professionals
  • Effective networking skills
  • Proficiency in (or ability to learn) customer relationship management software
  • Proficiency in (or ability to learn) company estimating software, experience with LMN a plus
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to effectively present to clients and close sales
  • Must represent the company in a courteous, professional manner
